China Pakistan Economic Corridor

The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (“CPEC”) is a joint regional economic project between China and Pakistan, whereby on one hand China will have an economic corridor to move its goods (to and from) through Pakistan and on the other hand there will be various Chinese sponsored infrastructure projects in Pakistan. Pakistan’s deep sea port of Gwadar will be the focal point of this traffic touching the Arabian Sea and the land territory of Pakistan. This will allow China shorter access to the western markets in South Asia, Arabia, Africa, Europe, South America and North America while it will allow Pakistan to become the conduit of this trade traffic. Earlier China had to route the same goods to and from the South China Sea, which was much longer and more expensive. This project is part of the Chinese initiative called One Belt One Road, in which China intends to link all regional markets through roads, connectivity and investment. Currently China is investing $46 bln in Pakistan to help materialize CPEC which is now worth more than $62 bln. CPEC and OBOR are collectively a revival of the ancient Silk Route.

TANGENT seeks to be part of the CPEC in all dimensions that are relevant to its SERVICES.
